Jang Geun-seok embarks on an Asian tour

My first reaction was, “Huh? A tour for what? Is he jumping the gun on a singing career?” But as it turns out, Jang Geun-seok is planning a three-month (March through May) promotional tour through Asia to build buzz for the Asian broadcasts of his latest drama, You’re Beautiful, as well as the Asian releases of his recent films. The drama may only have garnered mania numbers in Korea, but it has enjoyed incredible popularity online and overseas — it’s been bought for broadcasting in 17 countries.

Jang hasn’t yet participated in official activities outside of Korea and Japan, but no matter; he’s heading to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore, where he will hold fanmeetings. This is in large part due to the requests of overseas fans, according to the notice posted on the SBS homepage. Jang’s management also stated that he also plans on holding fanmeetings in Thailand and the Philippines sometime this year.

Jang will also be holding a fanmeeting on January 31 at Seoul’s Olympic Hall. After his Asian tour ends, he’ll get back to work picking his next acting project.

The three of them will come to Samsung-dong, Seoul where the event will take place and give their strong support to C.N.Blue Korea’s debut.

A. N. JELL Reunites for SBS Drama Awards

All fans secretly wish that SBS drama “You’re Beautiful” idol band A.N.JELL was a real band, but they aren’t.For the 2009 SBS Drama Awards on December 31st, the fake idol group came back together to sing “Still/As Always” from the drama’s OST.

Reprising their roles from the drama, Park Shin-hye happily squeals, “Hyung-nim.” Later, Jang Geun-seok announces, “I am A.N.JELL leader, Hwang Tae-kyung,” giving fans in attendance a mini heart attack.

With Lee Hong-ki and Jung Yong-hwa, the four play the part of A.N.JELL so well, I also wish I could see them perform together more often. In this performance, Jung Yong-hwa displays his stage charisma, so long forward to his band C.N Blue’s Korean debut. They have completed filming a music video that is to be released with a mini-album later this month.

Jang Geun-seok was included in the “Top 10 Stars Award” and received the “Netizen Highest Popularity Award.”

Lee Hong-ki, Jung Yong-hwa, and Park Shin-hye receive the “New Star Award.” Congratulations to the “You’re Beautiful” cast and crew!

Lee Seung Gi and Park Shin Hye will recreate the scene of a wedding ceremony for the 2009 SBS Gayo Daejun on the 29th. Performing to Will You Marry Me?, Lee Seung Gi will play the role of a groom while Park Shin Hye, the bride.

Unbelievable! Not only will Park Shin Hye be the MC of the night alongside hottie Jung Yong Hwa, she is going to be proposed to by the nation's heartthrob?! Forget the fancy schmancy awards; in my perspective, this girl is already the biggest winner of all!

The two willingly agreed to work together and are currently practicing the choreography. They expressed their enthusiasm for the coming performance and fans are highly anticipating the collaboration as well.

In addition, Brown Eyed Girls are planning a special stage of their own with a mystery male idol, whose identity viewers are curious to uncover. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a possible Dirty Brown Eyed Girls reunion.



A representative of Gayo Daejun stated, "There are mysterious and shocking performances in store for this year's Gayo Daejun. Brown Eyed Girls are secretly rehearsing with a top male idol. Please anticipate it."

'Tokujo Kabachi' Starring Sakurai Sho Ready to Take Fans by Storm?

Arashi's member Sakurai Sho is going to play the lead role in the drama 'Tokujo Kabachi /特上カバチ!!', which will be aired from Jan.17th 2010.

In the blog, it is said that "Sakurai's character is full of passion which might be quite suitable with his own image!" "There will be love scenes with Horikita Maki in the drama. Though I am very looking forward to it, I feel a little bit confused..." There still one month to go but the drama already becomes the hot issue.

It's a story about the growth between a administrative scrivener (Sakurai), and a female administrative scrivener who hates male. The highlight of this drama is 'the real-time phone call from the actors/actresses'. In a special corner of the program, audience can talk with the actors/actresses in real time while they are watching the drama. A lot of fans held a high expect that Arashi will sing the theme song. But it is not yet officially announced, and no one knows about the truth.

Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa are the MC’s for SBS Gayo Daejun

You're Beautiful couple Park Shin Hye and Jung Yong Hwa have been announced as the main MC's for the 2009 SBS Gayo Daejun.

Jang Geun Suk led the Melon Music Awards with Park Shin Hye so I guess it's Jung Yong Hwa's turn this time. The award ceremony is being held on the 29th, which is coming up soon so get ready! Jung Yong Hwa is definitely getting a taste of his fame.

An amazing line up, and the hottest MC's, what could go wrong? I'm sure no one is boycotting this one.

A.N.JELL to reunite for live performance
 

A.N.JELL will be reuniting once more for a live performance at the SBS 'Drama Awards.'

Although they are not a real band, they have garnered in a huge fanbase through the hit drama, 'You're Beautiful,' and they will be representing this drama with the performance.

Their performance will be 100% live, and it will be in celebration for the whole awards ceremony.

As well as the A.N.JELL performance by Jang Geun Suk, Park Shin Hye, Jung Yong Hwa, and Lee Hong Ki, representatives from the dramas 'Dream' and 'Style' will also get together for a special performance. More specifically, singer-turned-actress Son Dambi from 'Dream' and actor/dancer Lee Yong Woo from 'Style' will perform a hip-hop/jazz/sexy dance number as a couple.

Also, actress Lee Min Jung from 'Smile, You' will be getting together with singer Lee Seung Hwan to perform his song 'Sarang-Ha-Na-Yo' (사랑하나요). Lee Seung Gi will also be representing SBS' hit drama 'Shining Inheritance,' and he will perform the drama's OST 'The Person Living Inside My Heart.'

This award ceremony will go live on December 31st!

Oricon's year-end sales rankings for 2009 are out, and the results confirm that Arashi is the top selling artist of the year. They had the #1 single, the #1 album, the #1 music DVD, and were #1 for the first time in artist total sales.

In the 42 years of Oricon's history, no one else has topped all four categories in the same year.

Counting sales of singles, albums, music DVDs, and music Blu-ray Discs, Arashi grossed a total of more than 14.46 billion yen. At #2 this year was EXILE, who topped the list in 2008 with 19.58 billion yen in total sales.

In single sales, Arashi had the #1, #2, #3, and #5 releases, with "Believe / Kumori Nochi, Kaisei" in front at nearly 657,000 units sold. The only other artists to occupy the top three spots were Pink Lady in 1978 and Hikaru Genji in 1988.

Arashi are the first to have four of the top five, as well as the first to hold the top two spots in back-to-back years.

Their "All the BEST! 1999-2009" album sold over 1.43 million copies. In DVD sales, they were #1 and #2 with "5x10 All the BEST! CLIPS 1999-2009" (591,000) and "ARASHI AROUND ASIA 2008 in TOKYO" (428,000). More complete ranking lists are available on the Oricon website.
